Pendulums and Dowsing

Dowsing is a divinatory detection device. According to this belief, living beings would be sensitive to certain radiations emitted by different bodies, making it possible to locate sources, find a lost object, a treasure or a missing person, establish a health diagnosis, determine the depth of a well , etc... The studies carried out however did not highlight the effectiveness of the dowsing.

The word “dowsing” comes from the Latin radius, “ray” and from the Greek aisthêsis, “sensitivity”. Dowsing is the belief in the ability to exercise this sensitivity to discover, thanks to a pendulum or a rod, what is hidden from normal faculties but whose existence is real or imaginary.
This millennial practice was known to ancient civilizations all over the world.

Even if the tools used for dowsing vary from one practitioner to another (divinatory pendulum, dowsing rod, Lecher antenna), the principle remains the same. Its best known use is the search for hidden or lost objects, energy disturbances in the body, causing health problems.
